  3. PHOTOGRAPHER MINI-SESSIONS or MULITPLE CLIENTS: NOT ALLOWED ON SAME DATE, BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO SCHEDULE MORE THAN ONE APPOINTMENT. Exceptions can be made, so email us your questions to Karen@lavenderoaks.farm.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

  1. NO PRIVATE SESSIONS:  We do not book private photography sessions and you should expect other photographers and visitors on site.
  2. RESPECT OTHERS: Please DO NOT ask a visitor or other photographer to move for your shot – respect each other’s space and there is plenty of room for everyone.
  3. ARRIVE READY! Your client MUST come ready to be photographed and we do not allow changing of clothes in vehicles or in our restrooms.  Please see below for renting one of our modern log cabins for wardrobe changes.
  4. LOCATIONS TO PHOTOGRAPH: We will designate areas of our farm where you may walk to take photos and we do ask that you respect signs showing off-limit areas.
  5. LAVENDER -VERY IMPORTANT: Please walk carefully around our lavender, but DO NOT step, hop on, or walk on our white weed fabric around our lavender plants! It is very delicate and protects the plant.
  6. POLLINATORS: Please respect our honey bees, bumble bees, butterflies, and all the wildlife you may encounter on our farm.  The pollinators love our lavender and it makes them very happy. They are focused on their pollinating work, so please do not swat, bat, shoo, or interrupt them.
  7. RESTROOMS: We will have our restrooms open in our main Barn and please enter both restrooms from the patio side near our fireplace.  PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CLOSE OUR RESTROOM DOORS SHUT AS YOU LEAVE and PLEASE KEEP THE RESTROOMS CLEAN!
  8. PETS: NO PETS ALLOWED! We do make exceptions for weddings and ONLY if a couple has a handler for their dog. No dogs are allowed inside any building at our farm since we do make culinary and apothecary lavender products.
  9. WORKING LAVENDER FARM: Please note we are a working lavender farm so you may encounter farm equipment and staff working our fields. Please be kind and respect their hard work and please DO NOT ask them to move for your photograph.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: Please note we do not allow anyone outside on our farm in thunderstorms or inclement weather. If we hear thunder or see a lightening strike but there is no rain we will still clear the farm of visitors. Please check the weather radar and hourly forecast at least one hour prior to your session to confirm if it is safe to be on site. Please look at our exact location “LAVENDER OAKS FARM” as this is NC and sometimes it’s raining down the street but not at our farm.

WARDROBE CHANGES: We do offer one of our Log Cabins for wardrobe changes during your photography session. The fee is $75 per hour and our log cabins are quite nice with full restrooms, a covered porch, and are temperature controlled for year-round comfort.  You may not bring food or drinks to the cabin as it is only being rented for changing of clothes during a photography session. You MUST take any garbage with you upon leaving.
